A Settled Kitchen Extension, Khlong Sam Wa — 3 Micropiles in a Lived-In Home

The extension of this Khlong Sam Wa home serves as the kitchen and laundry, and when it began to settle it needed fixing — but the challenge was that the house was still lived in and packed with belongings: washing machines, shelving, a water-filter tank. Clearing everything out was hardly an option, so URETEK chose micropiles that work in small points, opening only the pits needed and fitting into tight space.

🍳 The Problem: A Settled Kitchen-and-Laundry Extension

The kitchen and laundry floor — an extension — had settled into a step against the main house, a point to fix before the split spread and disrupted daily use.

📦 The Catch: An Occupied Home, Packed and Tight

The work area was hemmed in by washing machines, storage and plumbing, with water pipes running under the floor too. The team set pile positions that could actually be worked in the narrow gaps, opened pits just 50×50 cm each, and routed around the pipes to disturb the owner as little as possible.

⚙️ The Fix: Three Micropiles, Point by Point

Load brackets were fixed to the existing footing/beam, then steel micropiles (ASTM A53 tube) were hydraulically jacked at points MP1–MP3 down to firm strata. The compact, quiet equipment produces none of the impact of pile driving, so it can work in a home that stays occupied.

📊 Re-Leveling, Every Pile Logged

The supervisor checked the hydraulic gauge on every pile to confirm capacity and logged the values (300–310 bar, 22–23 m deep, +1.0 mm lift), then locked the pile heads to the brackets and concreted the floor back to its original state.
